Fits and starts…

Hey there

My progress lately has been in fits and starts… not a good way, but a way none the less. I came across this quote and it helped me to change my attitude. Here it is…

Defeat has been tough lately, I really need to capitalize on the small successes in order to roll them into bigger overall progress.

Today I feel good.

Today I am alive and kickin’.

Today I am running with it – this good feeling – for as long as it lasts.

WGST!

I attended Worlds Greatest Speaker Training this weekend! It was awesome! I received training from Roger Love (world famous voice coach) Bo Eason (“Runt of the Litter” star) and Brendan Burchard (the best selling author and presenter) This training and learning about how to tell my story is a HUGE step for me! I am on my way!!!!!

I also met some great people that I had the privilege of meeting at previous events and also some new friends!!!

I told a story about my life that I had not shared with more than a couple of close friends before and it was heart wrenching and liberating and I realized that I am meant to tell my stories!

Rain!

It’s raining! I love thunderstorms!

We are experiencing a gentle thunderstorm here in Northern Colorado. There are puddles everywhere and a wonderful cool breeze. I sat on my front porch and watched the storm coming in. I heard the thunder for half an hour before I could even see this thunderstorm. Have I mentioned I love thunderstorms? LOL

I got Dragon to work and I’m very happy that I can just talk instead of type!

I’ve been thinking about my book, I’ve written over 200 words so far in an introduction chapter. I realize I really have no idea what I’m doing and it scares me and it invigorates me at the same time.

This could be an interesting journey.

Trying to make it work

Hey there – I am still trying to figure out the Dragon software.. Haven’t gotten very far yet. This limited brain-power sucks most of the time, especially when I want to do something and have trouble making it happen! I am trying to remain positive and optimistic as possible about my brain recovery, I will not be using this as a place to vent my daily frustrations about my limitations. I will be taking a very constructive stance on my recovery without denying that it is hard to go through it most of the time.

Just letting you know that I have not forgotten about my blog. I uploaded a pic from my trip to China in 2010.

Hey Everybody!

I got Dragon NaturallySpeaking software and I am learning how to use it now. It is a speech-to-text program so I can talk and it types for me. So expect more action on this here blog very soon!!!

Oh, by the way, I am going to the Worlds Greatest Speaker Training in August too! Yay me!

My Brain Gets Full…

The title of a book I bought today. The title of the book says exactly how I feel when I get overwhelmed and my brain just stops. The book is about a man’s brain injury and his struggle with work comp issues. I will probably skip over the work comp stuff, but I do like how he describes the brain injury stuff. It is good to not feel alone or crazy in this journey…
